Anita Laviola – Artist & Psychotherapist
As a psychotherapist, I work with children, adolescents, and adults in individual, family, and group settings. I have had the pleasure of working with a number of mothers and fathers with their teenager to minimize the tensions around issues of adolescence, independence, dating, and future planning. I love being part of people’s transformations, growth, as they become resilient and freer to live their lives as fully as they want. As a visual artist, I also understand the complex dynamics of creativity and blockages to process as well as creative expression being a vehicle to personal growth.
In the past, I have utilized masks in therapy groups with men and women who have experienced trauma. We all have “masks” that stand between us and the world. We all need support to sort this out; to understand ourselves.
I work with transition and change, which are continual challenges as we move through life’s events.
